Vision for Hayward
I am running for Hayward City Council to make the City of Hayward a better place to live, work and do business. As an educator at Chabot College teaching our youth and through providing food to deserving families at The Kids' Breakfast Club, I see first hand what our community needs, it needs Hayward to be a place that we can all be proud of calling our home. I have seen Hayward change from the time I was a child playing in the Schafer Park area of Hayward to now, as a proud home owner in downtown Hayward. We need to turn this community around and I firmly believe we can. We need to hire Hayward first, we have many well qualified workers that are educated in this community and we must encourage them to remain here by offering them quality jobs. We must spend our dollars in our community and shop locally to increase our city revenue. We must ensure that our Public Safety sectors are fully funded and our staffing levels are maintained to ensure a safe community. Our city, our school district, and our college and university must have a strong partnership with the goal of putting our future generation first! We must work to provide and maintain services for our youth as well as our seniors, both are important to maintaining a healthy community. Lastly we must continue to be environmentally friendly and embrace green technology as it advances.
I have lived in Hayward for a long time and as I am walking and talking to my neighbors I am being reconnected with old friends, family members of those old friends, people who knew my family and my sister and while it is fantastic to be reunited with these folks that have stayed in Hayward, I am also meeting new residents that are sharing similar concerns as those that have made Hayward their lifetime community and the message is that Hayward we must do better, we can do better and I promise you if elected I WILL do better. I am passionate about this community and through my service to this community I am committed to making a difference for Hayward. The City of Hayward can be a city we can all be proud of and I hope you join me and my vision of a better, stronger and vibrant Hayward!
